‘Theives hate marked bikes ’ and ‘Gopeds are NoPeds ’

South East Essex Community Safety Initiatives  (SEECSI) have combined with local partners to launch a new BUS BACK campaign with the emphasis on theft of Cycles and use of Go Peds, both of which are causing problems in all 3 districts of Rochford , Castlepoint and Southend. With cycles , most people never use a safety lock and many never get them stamped or I.D. marked , It is now possible to have your machine micro chipped and this is to be encouraged.

Go Peds are fast becoming a real nuisance , they are noisy and potentially dangerous and many parents do not realise the legal requirements.

Any motorised vehicle including skateboards are subject to the same laws as motorcycles AND MAY ONLY BE USED ON PRIVATE LAND . Any use of them on a road or footpath is illegal. Whilst we are not trying to spoil anyones fun we feel that parents need to be aware of the potential problems and the legal ramifications as well as the possible risks.
