Statement of Intent
SEECSi (South East Essex Community Safety Initiatives) is a collaboration of Crime & Disorder Reduction Partnerships and highly motivated community safety practitioners whose shared aim is to spread a variety of impactive community safety messages to as wide an audience as possible using targeted intelligence led problem solving.  The pooling of expertise, resources and finances has presented opportunities that would normally be beyond the scope of individual agencies or smaller groups, removing geographical barriers and enabling SEECSi members to significantly raise their aspirations and take on far more ambitious and challenging projects.

Mission Statement
We will work in partnership, with the common aim of achieving safer and more secure communities.

Steering Group
We will:

  • Do everything possible to maximise the expertise and capacity of SEECsi, co-opting additional members onto project working groups as necessary.
  • Ensure open communication and transparency across all member agencies.
  • Accept accountability for all SEECsi activities.

Partnership Working
We will:

  • Develop and maintain close working relationships between all member agencies.
  • Provide mutual encouragement and support to ensure that we work to our full capacity.

Raising Awareness
We will:

  • Publicise and raise awareness of CDRP and/or member agencies’ strategic objectives, covering any issue that can potentially threaten the safety and well-being of members of the community.
  • Maintain a dynamic and informative website (www.seecsi.com) with links to a variety of relevant community safety websites.
  • Target all potential victims, including diverse groups and those who might be considered vulnerable or hard-to-reach.

Funding
We will:

  • Actively explore all funding avenues, both internal and external.
  • Seek the continuing support of member CDRPs in making grants from their central government funding. Any such grant will be administered in accordance with the conditions of grant agreed between the Home Office and CDRPs.
  • Produce a formal bid application form, backed up by a fair and equitable process of prioritising bids for approval.
  • Apply ‘SMART’ criteria when selecting projects for funding.
  • Produce an audit trail of income and expenditure.
  • Undertake effective and robust evaluation and monitoring of all SEECSi projects, in line with established CDRP practice.
